Rachel Turetzky, MA, LMHCA

I am a Pre-Doctoral Intern in Clinical Psychology.  I received my Master’s degree in Psychology from The New School for Social Research.  I am currently working toward my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute.  I have research experience working on clinical studies for a number of organizations including Mount Sinai School of Medicine, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), and now Puget Sound Psychiatric Center.  The clinical studies I’ve worked on investigated various disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder, treatment-resistant PTSD, and insomnia.

I specialize in working with adults in individual therapy on issues such as trauma, stage-of-life transitions, depression, anxiety, creative blocks, and addiction disorders.  I have a special interest in working with vulnerable adolescents (age 14 and older) who are considered at-risk, such as those with family turbulence, poor academics, substance abuse, legal issues, promiscuity, thoughts of suicide, alienation, or other difficulties that may interfere with their progress into a healthy and satisfying adulthood.

I personalize a therapeutic experience that is specific to each patient’s unique needs and goals. I offer an integrative approach to psychotherapy based in depth psychology.  Additionally, my interdisciplinary background informs my perspective with influences from Jungian psychology, cognitive neuroscience, spirituality, psycho-linguistics, and Eastern philosophy, to name just a few.

I view therapy as a collaborative process.  We will work together in trust and confidentiality to identify patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and deeply rooted beliefs that may be interfering with optimal functioning and quality of life.  In addition to my education and training, I bring to our sessions genuine compassion and a safe, non-judgmental space.  For you to the have the best experience in therapy, I encourage you to speak your truth and bring openness and honesty to the process.  I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals while helping to bring more meaning, creativity, and fulfillment into your life.
