Dr. Max Hines is a licensed psychologist with a PhD in Counseling Psychology from University of Minnesota. He has 30+ years of experience in a wide range of clinical areas with special interest in the use of EMDR not only for trauma (sexual; military-related; accidents; etc.) but also for a wider range of anxiety-related disorders including generalized anxiety disorder, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, hoarding, and anger issues. In addition, he has interest, training and experience in the treatment of insomnia and is currently developing a study on the effectiveness of insomnia treatment strategies including cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). He is the Training Director of the PSPC Internship Program where he supervises interns and mentors psychiatric residents. Dr. Hines was a full professor and Associate Vice President at Northwestern Health Sciences University. He is the former Chair of Counseling and School Psychology at Seattle University and was the founder and Dean of Washington School of Professional Psychology which became part of Argosy University/Seattle. Coupled with knowledge, understanding and expertise, he aspires to bring a warm heart and a safe, supportive approach in his work with clients.
